The YouTube for S60 that everyone has been waiting for is here. Version 2.4 now lets you to log-in to your YouTube account and access all your favorite videos, subscriptions and playlists directly on your handset. This new update also brings a new search query suggestion tool and a new homescreen user interface that is optimized for larger screens.

Other features added to this update include the search query suggestions tool, that brings up relevant suggestions as you type in the YouTube search box. There is also a new homescreen user interface optimized for larger screens and displays all the new account orientated features for easy access.

Native Skype Client finally arrives on the Symbian 5th edition phones!

Slide IT Beta keyboard for Nokia Touchscreen phones.

So I've been testing out this new "keyboard" app on the Nokia 5800 for awhile and so far I'm fairly impressed with it.
Basically it's a new method to type on your phone, instead of clicking/tapping individual letters, just keep on sliding your finger/stylus till you cover all the letters of the word.

To download you will have to go to the developer's site here and input your name, email and IMEI. They will then send you the application to try.

X-Plore - a file manager/browser/editor for s60v5 phones

I truly can't imagine why I had completely ignored to put this app up here for people to download. It is one of the 1st apps that I started using on my 5800.

This file manager is pretty much an all in one solution. With features like an inbuilt document viewer, audio/video player, quick thumbnails for pictures, zip manager, etc...it is by far the most superior app in it's category.

It also lets you access system files where you can use it to delete cache/temp files to free up more space on the phone memory. Just be careful not to delete any essential system files.

DayHand Input - Add/Change default keyboard on S60v5 phones!

Look at the pictures for the app's capabilities and functionality. The last 2 images also show you how to switch between different keyboard skins, however I personally love the Opera Keyboard interface. Another neat feature is that the keyboard automatically switches to the larger one once the phone is rotated to the landscape mode.

Do not miss out on testing this app. It's absolutely amazing.

Here's yet another mobile info app. It provides various information regarding your phone. There's been other apps that do the same however the one addition I liked in this app was the dispay of Signal strength. Pretty useful for people that live in a poor service area.

Text Twist Turbo, a word puzzle game for Nokia 5800 & Nokia N97

This is a pretty neat and challenging game for our phones! It works flawlessly on the 5800, you may need to test it out on the other s60v5 phones for yourself. Post your feedback here.
The objective of the game is to create the required number of words from the given jumbled alphabets. I like the game because it's fun to play and challenges your vocabulary.
The game itself is designed to fit the entire screen making the UI very good.

This is the 1st app of its kind for Symbian s60v5 phones. This app provides the reading for each sign for the year 2010. The only drawback is that there's no daily/weekly updates.

In case you don't have a data plan and would like to store weather forecast for a week via Wifi, use this free weather app: Microweather.

Graphically, the app isn't the best however for a free app it does what it's supposed to well. Check it out for yourself.

Electric Beams, puzzle game for Nokia 5800 & Nokia N97

So this is a pretty neat game by Offscreen.
The point of the game is to light up all the bulbs using the connected electric beams. Pretty neat and fun game!

Eggtimer for Nokia 5800 & Nokia N97

Like the title suggests, this is a countdown timer with the max time to be set at 59 mins.
I really liked the app's grafix, it suited the purpose just right. However, I would've loved the option to change the alert tone to something else.

This is a pretty neat app from Offscreen yet again.

This Altimeter app uses the in built gps to measure the altitude and display it in a neat/clean manner. So if you ever decide to go sky diving remember to bring your phone and have this app installed!
