Google Voice for S60

This app is a must have for all Google Voice users!

Once installed, no longer will you need to goto the Google Voice mobile website to send sms or call numbers. This app is basically a neat shortcut to achieve the utmost potential of Google Voice from one place.

The best features of this app are:
  1. Send SMS for free
  2. Call USA/Canada for free
Note: This app requires a data/wifi connection and obviously a Google Voice account. Also you will need to have Python 1.9.7 installed.

UPDATE: App link updated to latest version available (Jan 19th 2010).

Download here.

  1. hey man. no offense, but i installed the python 1.9.7 on my 5800 XM and the phone will not connect to the internet. Also the screen goes white and then slowly fades to black. I called my service provider and nokia themselves and they had no idea on how to fix it. Did the factory reset but to no avail. I think the python might have a bug in it or something but other than that all your other apps works just fine. INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK.....

  2. I am sorry to hear about that. It hasn't happened to me before and I've never heard of any other problems with Python.
I'd suggest you try a hard reset: hold red+green+camera buttons and then turn on the phone. Keep holding the former 3 keys till you see the 'Handshake'. This will restore your phone to factory condition, so backup all necessary data first.
I hope that fixes the issue.

  3. Hey man,

This app is installed and runs and everything. I tried using it to call, however it wouldn't ring. I tried using it to text, and that would work fine. What's up with that?

  9. Updated with the 0.7.24 version. I'm still getting the "An error occurred, the details have been logged" message but it disappears and seems to be working now. Thanks!

  10. I got this to work on my Nokia 5800. Is there any way to integrate the phone book to the application. Phone book of phone or phonebook in Google voice? I have many contacts in both places just not in the application?
Also in the log in of Google voice in the application you have can how can I specify my Gizmo5 account instead of a number to be called?
